We have all been shocked by the war in Ukraine. I wrote this poem to express my fears and feelings. I hope you like it.

Peace

Better days will come,
Better days will come,
Better days will come
I keep repeating in my head

I wake each day praying
it will be today.
Opening the news thread
Fear continues its spread.

A brave David stands alone,
Facing an evil Goliath.
Begging his friends for help,
They stand and shake their heads.

Our leaders are failing.
their inaction shames us.
Platitudes falling from their lips,
Like leaves in Autumn,
Covering the bodies of the innocent,
Caught up in a mad man’s war.

We can stand outside embassies,
Shout and jeer.
He, Won’t, Listen.
Let us raise our voices
The Whole World Together
Songs of Peace,
Songs of Love,
Songs the oppressed cannot fail to hear.

Our Hero will win.
Satan’s Goliath will fall.
Better days will come.
The World will be together.
The sounds of Peace can stop the bombs.
